As part of CommVault® MANAGE Services, our eDiscovery service helps customers to manage legacy data sets during and after their migration to CommVault. This CommVault hosted service partnership enables customers to catalog and index data sets written by other data protection products and extract relevant content from legacy storage. This catalog and extraction service can be used to plan for migrations, complete targeted extraction and protection operations as part of a platform migration, or to respond to legal inquiry from backups BEFORE CommVault. Complete Chain of Custody handling is used to safeguard customer data sets during the catalog and index process of specific data sets. CommVault eDiscovery engineers coordinate access to this indexed data and provide oversight and training to customer personnel in order to facilitate secure and confidential searches of data in order to respond to requests or plan for data migration. Results sets from these searches may then be returned to the customer through Chain of Custody in whatever format is required. On completion of this service, all data indices are destroyed and all data sets are returned to the customer, ensuring continued confidentiality of critical customer data sets.
