Classroom Based Training
CommVault Administration- Description
- This 3-day course is intended for personnel responsible for day-to-day administration and management of the CommVault® Simpana® software suite. The course covers essential concepts, details, options, and best practices for user security and management, system settings, policy configuration and use, media and library management, job activity and status monitoring, and job management. Students also learn how to efficiently and effectively manage data movement (backup, archive, auxiliary copy, and restore) within a CommCell® group.

- This 2-day course is intended for key personnel responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the CommVault® Simpana® software suite. The course starts by enabling the student to understand architectural considerations, resource planning requirements, and installation options for deploying the CommVault Simpana software suite. Students are then given in-depth understanding of the internal process steps for essential job operations. Students will learn performance enhancement techniques, troubleshooting tools and methodology that can help identify causes and solutions to the more common problems encountered by customers.

- This 2-day course focuses on planning, installation, configuration, or day-to-day operation of the CommVault® Simpana® software solution for compliance archiving, migration archiving, content indexing, and content search. Students will learn how to quickly, and efficiently achieve the benefits of compliance and migration archiving, how to best configure, operate, and monitor archiving tasks, and how to organize, efficiently search, and retrieve managed data.

- This 2-day course is intended for experienced CommVault administrators responsible for planning and implementing disaster recovery in their organizations using the CommVault® Simpana® software suite. The course will cover general disaster recovery concepts, planning, and implementation considerations. Students will learn to identify risk factors affecting all CommCell components and suggested response levels appropriate for various levels of disaster. Students will also learn how to integrate knowledge acquired from other Training Classes and Resources to effectively recover all necessary CommCell components in the event of common data center disruptions.

CommVault Onsite Training
- Training without travel. CommVault offers custom training, delivered at customer locations. Onsite training is customer-focused to address specific needs allowing the flexibility to focus content and instructor interaction. Any instructor led course, or combination of the CommVault Administration course with any specialty course, may be delivered over a five day period. This training process optimizes customer team interaction and information retention. Onsite training courses are provided for up to 18 attendees. The course introduces CommVault software to new personnel by explaining basic CommVault terminology and concepts. The student will learn essential job management and control skills; understand how the CommCell® Console, alerts, and reports are used for monitoring job operations; and how to locate data in protected storage and restore to application and file systems.

- This self-paced online course is intended for personnel working with CommVault® Simpana® 1-Touch Server software. 1-Touch Server is a highly-automated, enhanced variation of the Bare Metal Restore (BMR) procedure that is commonly used in industry to recover systems. This course covers installation of the 1-Touch Server software; configuration of recovery images for Linux and Windows, software requirements for AIX and Solaris, and creation of 1-Touch Client Recovery boot disks.

- This self-paced online course is intended for personnel working with CommVault Simpana CommNet Service Manager software. CommNet™ Service Manager is designed to manage and administer CommCell® groups and QSMCells by providing the capability to analyze concise summaries and generate comprehensive text based and graphical reports showing various aspects of secondary and primary storage enabling an Administrator to resolve problems proactively rather than reactively. This course covers installation of the CommNet Service Manager software, addition of CommCell and QSM Cell clients and collection of data, common tools and settings for efficient CommNet management, and best practices for CommNet activity monitoring and report generation.

- This self-paced online course is intended for personnel working with CommVault® Simpana® Continuous Data Replicator (CDR) software. CDR software provides nearly real-time replication of file system or application data employing wizards and policies for configuration tasks that simplifies the basic operations and monitoring of data replication activities. This course covers the installation of CDR software agents, configuration of replication policies, sets and pairs, replication operations and monitoring, and recovery point generation, mounting, and backup.

- This self-paced online course is intended for personnel working with the DELL PowerVault™ DL2000 Backup to Disk appliance powered by CommVault®. The DL2000 Appliance is a comprehensive storage solution containing storage capacity integrated with the software required to backup system data. This course covers installation using the Backup to Disk Appliance Configuration wizard, configuring the disk library and system options, using the EZ Operations wizard to perform backup and restores, protecting the appliance software, and basic troubleshooting.

- This self-paced online course is intended for users of the CommVault® Web Search console who conduct end-user or compliance searches of online or offline content indexed data. This course provides a high level overview on the search features and options available along with how content search works. It gives the student practical demonstration on performing end user and compliance searches along with managing results for recovery or legal hold.
